Room dimensions

Doors and windows

No doors or windows have been added. The full surface will be calculated.

Paint settings

Results are approximate. Actual paint coverage may vary depending on paint type, surface absorption, previous color, preparation, application method and environmental conditions.

How is paint quantity calculated?

Wall area is calculated by multiplying the room perimeter by its height.

The ceiling area is then added when required, and doors and windows are subtracted.

The net surface is multiplied by the number of coats and divided by the coverage in square meters per liter.

General formula

Liters = area × coats ÷ coverage

Frequently asked questions

Paint calculation questions

How do I calculate how much paint I need?

Calculate the total wall and ceiling area, subtract doors and windows, multiply by the number of coats and divide by the manufacturer's stated coverage.

How much area does one liter of paint cover?

Many paints cover approximately 8 to 12 square meters per liter per coat, although the exact value depends on the product and surface.

How many coats of paint are recommended?

Two coats are commonly applied. Some surfaces, major color changes or specialized products may require a different number.

Should I include an additional allowance?

Yes. An allowance of 5% to 10% helps account for waste, touch-ups, absorption and application differences.
