Image formats
JPG is suitable for photographs and files that need to use less storage. It uses lossy compression and does not support transparency.
PNG is useful for logos, screenshots, graphics and transparent images. It may create larger files than JPG or WebP.
WebP often provides good quality with smaller files and is especially useful for optimizing website images.
PNG and WebP can preserve transparent areas. JPG does not support transparency, so the tool lets you choose a background color.
Lower quality may reduce file size, but it can also reduce image detail. Try different values and compare the result.
